A very good set of hardbacks with leather spine and corners and marbled paper over boards. Gilt design to spine. A small amount of bumping and wear, and 2 volumes with areas of worn leather areas; Vol I at the head of the spine, and Vol IV on the left centre of the front board, but minor issues. First volume with portrait frontispiece by Raeburn.
Offsetting to areas of the book coming into contact with the leather bindings. Some foxing to endpapers and title spreads. Otherwise text is bright, clean and soundly bound. no owner's inscriptions. An attractive set.
