Vintage Accounts Ledger Books, A Group of 3 Ledgers with Brass Brahma Patent Locks. A nice group of 3 uncommon accounts books.

All three books are very good hardbacks with black leather spine and corners. Boards are covered with rippled design navy blue cloth. With some bumping and wear to extremities. One of the larger books has a bit more wear and a discolored area. All are soundly bound. With marbled text block edges.

Each book has a hinged brass lock, with the words 'Brahma Patent' on the lock of the smaller book and 'Secure Brahma' on the larger books.

The smaller book is almost unused - there is a heading written to the top of p.1 and pages 2-4 have been removed. The text comprises 13 x tabbed A-Z leaves, then double numbered spreads to p. 130 (2 duplicate numbers in top corners of each spread). Marbled endpapers. The lock works perfectly and is supplied with a key.

The 2 larger books do not have their own keys and hence remain locked. There is no evidence from the side that anything is missing, but contents cannot be ascertained properly. These locks could be opened by a locksmith.

Text is bright and clean throughout, with feathered marbling to text block edges - bright and vibrant.

Date: Undated, but style consistent with 1930s-1950s period.

Often used as film prop/set decor.
