Actual Photographs of Chinese Executions

Actual Photographs of Chinese Executions, These Kodak Pictures Made from Un-retouched Films Showing Decapitations Tortures, Shootings and the horrible Death of a thousand cuts, An Interesting and Unusual Photo Set

Very scarce set. Not found in COPAC/WORLDCAT.

Published by Bear Photo Company, San Francisco. Undated but approx 1910-1920 from appearance.

The Bear Company was in business from 1906-1930.

They published this rather gruesome set of photographs of Chinese Executions. There is an outer printed card wrap folder in near fine condition with just some very mild creasing where flaps are lifted out their slots. Inside there are 18 photographs in total, each depicting a scene of a Chinese Execution.

The photographs are in very good condition overall, the lower corner of one photograph affected with some red ink staining, the other images all unstained with just slight age curvature to the photo paper.

The photos are captioned in the negative, some of which would be deemed very inappropriate today such as "Easy to Lose your head in China" or "These Chinks will rob no more".

Dimensions:
Folder: 155mm x 95mm x 6mm.
Each photo: 150mm x 90mm incl white border
