Illustrated Hardback, 4th edition hardback.

Royal Academy of Arts, London, 1935. Foreword by Laurence Binyon.

xxviii + 160pp text + 160 plates with page for annotation for each one.

Hardback editions of this catalogue are now extremely scarce.

Essential for Chinese art book collectors - this exhibition was the most most important exhibition of Chinese Art ever held in the UK.

Very good condition hardback. Some fading to spine and light soiling to cover. Binding all firm and nice and clean overall. Pencil signature to first free endpaper (J H Gow 1936 - any connection to Leonard Gow?).

The interior of the book is very good - endpaper joints intact and clean, text pages and plates all nice and clean - the occasional pencil annotation.

xxiv + 264pp + xxv-xxxv + index to advertisers + fold-out map, plus 288pp of hundreds of black and white illustrations of the exhibits. Also an additional 32pp of full page ads for art dealers of the day at the rear (some in colour).

Dimensions:
218mm high x 145mm wide x 35mm deep
