This attractive 1907 first edition brings together essays by noted literary figures—including Andrew Lang, J. Churton Collins, W.J. Loftie, E. A good cream cloth hardback with elaborate gilt and green printed front cover and spine. Cloth with some light soiling. Slight give in the spine. Bumped to head and tail of spine. With gilt top edge and rough cut edges elsewhere.

Text is bright, clean and soundly bound throughout with all colour Plates present as called for. Some showthrough to gutter between gatherings in places. Offsetting to endpapers and previous owner's inscription to first pastdedown. Plates with printed tissue guards.
