A very good hardback with burgundy leather spine and corners (spine faded to brown), with raised gilt bands and black morocco label with gilt titles. With burgundy cloth over boards. With some light scuffing and bumping. Soundly bound. With attractive previous owner's inscription, dated to 1886, to free blank endpaper.

Text is very good - clean and bright throughout. Contains frontispiece + an additional 3 engraved plates, on a slightly thicker ivory toned stock. With decorative speckled edges to text block, as issued.
