A very good dark brown cloth hardback with gilt to spine. A few minor marks to cover. Dustjacket is good - intact with scuff marks to edges and spine. Red endpapers are in pristine condition. No owner's marks.

Text is in lovely clean, bright condition and the book presents as a very comprehensive and attractive work. Soundly bound. 

Endpapers are clean, but there is considerable age spotting to first dozen or so pages, plus occasional spotting throughout text. More spotting affecting the Plate title page and first plate, as well as the last two plates, although the majority fo which are nice and clean.
