£40.00
SKU LAN8690

Sir Walter Scott; The Waverley Novels, Copyright Edition Entire. With all the Author's Introductions, Notes, and Corrections on the Text. 3 Volumes containing 22 of Scott's works. There would have been 4 volumes in the complete set.

Scott's importance to literature really cannot be overstated - his work was highly influential and immensely popular across Europe at the time of writing and for many years afterwards.

Published by Adam and Charles Black, Edinburgh, 1868.

A fair set of hardbacks with dark green cloth over boards, and leather spine and corners. Covers are heavily worn - scuffed, bumped, rubbed and marked with scrapes to the leather. With raised bands and title label to spine - missing from Volume I. Hinges are weak and inner joints are all cracked to binding cords. Endpapers foxed.

Text is good throughout - bright and clean, and still bound. One loose leaf in Volume III. Marbled edges to text block.

Despite binding faults, the text makes for an acceptable reading set.

Text in English.
