The cover carries the initials M.V.C. which matches the name inside of May Violet Carsia, to whom the works appear to be dedicated. There are approximately 41 of the pages which carry a mix of manuscript verse, music and artworks, throughout the book.

The album dates from the Victorian era, with the dates beginning at 1892. The inscriptions are in a number of languages including English, French, German and Portuguese.

This consists of a hardback album with padded black leather cover, loosely wrapped in a protective paper wrap (which is heavily worn and torn. The front outer hinge is split, but remains bound due to a strong tape inner joint. Endpapers are a floral design with gilt. Text block edges are gilt and interior is a mix of coloured paper stock.

Dimensions: approx 25.5cm high x 21.5cm wide x 4.5cm deep.

Weight: Approximately 1.32kg.

In good condition overall. Was sourced in Scotland, although the inscriptions are from various places including Shanghai, Weisbaden, Peterhead, rio de Janeiro and others.
