A good clothbound hardback set in an unusual style library binding, where the corners are deliberately left without any cloth and are protected by a tough plastic used for the boards. Red cloth spine and green cloth over boards. Spines are sun faded. With some shelf wear and scuffing. Previous owner's marks to endpapers.

Text is clean and bright. With offsetting to endpapers and light scattered spotting. With some age toning to extremities and light spotting to text block edges. Gilt top edge. Well illustrated in black and white with guarded colour plates. Vol. III has a particularly nice colour foldout of Old London Bridge.
