A delightful copy of the first printing of More About Worzel Gummidge, the third volume in the Worzel Gummidge series, the much loved living scarecrow, familiar to many in the UK from the later 1970s BBC television series starring Jon Pertwee. First impressions with the original dustjacket are very scarce in commerce.

Published by Burns, Oates & Washbourne Ltd., London. 1938 first edition, first impression. printed at the Burleigh Press, Bristol.

A very good red cloth hardback with printed titles. Lightly bumped to head and tail of spine, but covers crisp and clean. With a very slight skew in the binding. No owner's inscription. Binding is sound.

Housed in the very scarce original dustjacket which is in fair condition. Not price clipped (with the original '3s. 6d.' price). With wear and nibbles to extremities. With some losses to spine. Now covered in a protective, removable clear plastic sleeve.

Text is bright and clean throughout. Some offsetting to endpapers. Illustrations are in excellent bright condition. Red tinted top edge (colour still strong). Light spotting to edges of text block. A very scarce volume featuring a much-loved classic children's character.
