Rudyard Kipling's Verse; Definitive Edition. 

Published by Hodder and Stoughton Limited, London, 1940. Would appear to be a first edition thus, following various collected verse editions beginning in 1912, but we presume it has been rebound by the owner in leather.

A very good full leather chestnut brown hardback (stiff card covers). Minor shelf wear with previous owner's initials in gilt at front corner. Small white stain to edge of cover just above lower rear of cover. Mild spotting to endpapers.

The text is clean and bright throughout. The high page count is achieved via the use of thin India paper. With some corner creasing to text and the final text page is nibbled to the top edge. A comprehensive collection of Kipling's verse.
