A good set of 2 hardbacks with calf leather spines and corners, with marbled paper over boards. Leather is bumped and rubbed, and paper is heavily scuffed with losses to the rear of Volume I. Endpapers still intact. Volume II is missing the main title page, although still retains the preliminary pictorial title. Previous owner's name to title page of Vol. I.

Some age spotting to endpapers and first and last few pages. First few pages of Volume II, including Pictorial title with staining and wear down right edge. Overall text is actually bright and clean with mild, scattered age spotting. Soundly bound. Two good volumes of this well respected work.
