Written by Winston S. Churchill (1940-2010), grandson and namesake of Sir Winston Churchill, First Journey recounts the young author's adventurous journey through Africa, undertaken with his friend Arnold von Bohlen in a light aircraft. Travelling some 20,000 miles across the continent, Churchill records their experiences and encounters in what was his first book, published when he was only twenty-four. This is the particularly desirable signed limited issue of the first edition, one of only 260 copies produced, of which 250 were offered for sale, specially bound in red leather and issued in a black slipcase. This copy is No. 172, signed by Churchill on the limitation page.
