Haig by Duff Cooper is a major two-volume biography of Field Marshal Douglas Haig, first published in 1935. Drawing on extensive research and privileged access to papers and sources, Cooper presents a detailed and sympathetic account of Haig's life and military career, including his central role as Commander-in-Chief of the British Expeditionary Force during the First World War. Written with clarity and authority, the work seeks to reassess Haig's reputation in the years following the conflict, offering both narrative history and considered defence of one of Britain’s most debated military figures.
