A good full calf leather hardback with incised panel decoration. Raised bands to spine. Covers are worn, bumped and scuffed, with some losses to leather on the rear. Hinges are weak and cracked, but covers held securely by their binding cords.
Previous owner's inscription to first pastedown, noting the first publication date of 1682. Endpapers soiled and worn with nibbles to edges. Lovely fontispiece engraving facing the title page - each with small edge tears. Text is good throughout - bright and clear with some toning, and occasional minor faults such as spotting or marks, small edge tear or crease, commensurate with age. Overall a good reading copy of an uncommon volume.
