The Poetical Works, Complete, of Oliver Goldsmith, M.B., with Some Account of His Literature, Sherwood, Neely, and Jones, 1816
A very smart copy of Goldsmith's poetry, which has been professionally rebound in brown cloth, and presents the book beautifully.
The Poetical Works, Complete, of Oliver Goldsmith, M.B., with Some Account of His Literature. To Which are Prefixed, Several Poetical Tributes to His Memory, By Contemporary Writers. An Improved Edition, Embellished with Engravings on Wood, by Austin.
Printed for Sherwood, Neely, and Jones, London, 1816.
A near fine attractive hardback volume which has been bound in a later brown cloth, with gilt title to spine. Binding is crisp and clean, and everything is soundly bound. The Book is bound with white card endpapers and retains one of the original marbled endpapers (a little rubbed), which carries a prize presentation inscription written in Latin, in 1823.
Text is near fine throughout - bright and clear, with some offsetting opposite the portrait frontispiece and lovely plates, as would be expected. Overall, a very appealing book of an uncommon edition.
Text in English.
