A handsome set of books by Henry Fielding (1707-1754), English novelist, dramatist and essayist. The books have been professionally rebound in matching russet cloth hardbacks, and are very smart indeed. 

The Works of Henry Fielding, Esq.; In Twelve Volumes with the Life of the Author. Printed by Martin & Wotherspoon, Edinburgh. The Fourth Edition, 1767 (the first collected edition was just 5 years earlier in 1762).

A near fine set of attractive hardback volumes which have been bound in a later russet cloth, with gilt titles to spine. Bindings are crisp and clean, and everything is soundly bound. Books are bound with white card endpapers.

Text is near fine throughout - bright and clear. The first volume with a portrait frontispiece by Hogarth, with offsetting. Overall a most attractive set for any library, of an uncommon complete edition.
