A good blue cloth hardback with gilt. Some rubbing, bumping and wear to the cloth. The spine is darkened. Boards are slightly bowed. Some give in the binding, due to the heavy text block.

Text is bright and clean throughout, with some offsetting opposite plates. Offsetting to endpapers. Split to webbing at inner joint after the frontispiece, but all still bound. Rough cut edges as issued. With colour frontispiece. Plates with tissue guards. Gilt top edge.
