The Pagan Man Wonne to Godde and To Theyr Companie By the Ayde of The Aungels and Sayntes, Wrytten by Rev. Arthur Tooth M.A. Illustrated by T. Derrick, and done into Manuscript by Bertha Bell.

The Rev. Tooth (1839-1931) was best known for being prosecuted and imprisoned for his liturgical worship practices, and consequently became a martyr figure for Anglo-Catholics. He established a convent, chapel and orphanage in Croydon in 1878, from which he published this book - a beautiful book of old English prose/poetry illustrated with attractive woodcut illustrations and borders. 

Published at The Convent, Woodside, Croydon. Undated, but c. 1920. Privately printed.

A fine copy in modern binding with marbled stone effect papers over boards with black and gilt label to spine. All soundly bound.

Text is in fine condition and printed on a high quality laid paper stock.
