Published by Adam & Charles Black, London, 1966 & 1970 first edition set. Complete sets of both first edition volumes are uncommon. These volumes are a stand-alone set, but issued as part V of 'An Ecclesiastical History of England' series.

Good blue cloth hardback set. Some scuffing and bumping. Covers have had strengthening strips added to inner joints (books are substantial in weight). Inner joint paper split to webbing after first free endpaper, causing some give in the binding of the first volume. Text is nice and clean throughout. With original dustjackets - which have been fixed around a backing paper and the first volume has some strengthening tape attached on the reverse. Jackets are ragged at extremities. Blue top edge of text block.
