A near fine set of brown morocco hardbacks with raised bands to spine. With elaborate gilt tooled decoration to covers and gilt titles to spine. With blind stamped central decoration to cover panels. All soundly bound. Some light rubbing to raised bands and extremities of covers.
Text is bright and clean throughout and beautifully presented. Vol. I with some spotting to portrait frontispiece leaf of Leighton, and some mild spotting to endpapers in Vol. II. Full gilt edges to text block, with some usage marks. Owner's scripted inscription to blank free endpaper.
