"Printed by order of the Lord Provost, Magistrates, and Council to commemorate the Sexcentenary of the Charter granted to the Burgh by King Robert the Bruce".

Edinburgh 1329-1929. Contributors: Mr D. Robertson; Miss Marguerite Wood; Mr F.C. Mears, under the advisement of Professor Robert Kerr Hannay.

Published by Oliver and Boyd, Edinburgh, 1929. First edition.

A very attractively produced volume with black grained leather spine and corners with gilt decoration and cream linen over boards. A few minor marks to cover. Pages are bright and clean throughout with no spotting - with gilt top edge and other edges rough cut. No dustjacket.

The overall appearance of the book is of fine condition, but we will only class this as good condition overall as the front endpaper is split at the inner hinge, and there is also a gap through to the webbing at the gutter preceding the title page, thus weakening the binding. Otherwise an excellent copy.

Text in English.

lxx + including bound in errata slip + (1pp) + 435pp + numerous full page plates. Includes guarded frontispiece and sepia facsimiles of the Charter and other documents.

Dimensions: Each volume approximately 262mm  x 205mm x 48mm.

Weight approximately 1596g (unpacked).
