Printed for Longman, Hurst, Ress, Orme and Brown, London. Sold also by J. Hatchard, Piccadilly; Mrs Cock, Pall Mall; and Manners & Miller, and John Anderson, Edinburgh, 1811 first edition. Uncommon.

A fair set of 2 hardback volumes with leather spines and corners. Covers are worn and rubbed and both volumes have a weak front hinge. Front covers are still bound, but fragile. Endpapers are heavily worn and appear to have had bookplates or labels removed

Overall the text blocks are clean and legible, but with some flaws. The first 2 text leaves in Volume 1 are almost detached. In Vol I, pages p 11-56 have foxing with pages 24-49 in particular having heavy spotting. The text is still legible. Scattered minor spotting.

Volume 2 with scattered minor spotting and some damp staining affecting the top third of pages towards the rear of the book, but text is till clearly legible.

Marbled edges to text block. A far from perfect set, but a good reading copy of an uncommon first edition.

Text in English.

Volume 1: viii + 304pp.
Volume 2: iv + 365pp + 1pp errata (for both volumes).

Dimensions: Each volume 178mm high x 110mm wide x 21-23mm deep.
