Printed for The New Spalding Club. All first, numbered limited editions. Printed by the Aberdeen University Press. The New Spalding Club was formed in 1886 (following The Spalding Club in 1839). They published scholarly editions of texts relevant to the Aberdeenshire region.

A very good set of olive green cloth hardbacks with some shelf wear, scuffing and bumping. Slight toning to spines. Gilt decals. Volume 2 with some staining to top corners, not affecting text. All soundly bound. With previous owner's bookplate to pastedown of Volume I; John Adam Milne, and 'Gordon Castle' label to the pastedown of the fourth book.

Text in both is bright and clean throughout. With some offsetting to endpapers and mild offseeting opposite plates. Text with rough cut edges as issued. Some pages remain uncut. Occasional minor flaw - but really a very nice set of some substance.

Text in English.

Each volume approximately 264mm high x 205mm wide x 35-67mm deep.

Weight approximately 7.32kg (the set- unpacked).
