A beautifully presented publication of this work, first published at The Clarendon Press, Oxford, in 1909. Very much a deluxe edition from Gryphon Editions, in full top grain pigskin leather, specially commissioned marbled endpapers, and 22-karat gold edges to the text block. A stunning presentation.

Joseph Lister (1827-1912) was one of the giants of Medicine, often cited as the 'father of modern surgery' who revolutionised surgical craft through his pioneering research into bacteriology and infection in wounds. Hi work made surgery much safer for patients, and greatly improved surgical outcomes.
