Covers rubbed and bumped with cloth with some soiling and marks. Soundly bound. Marbled endpapers and marbled edges to text block. Small bookseller's sticker to rear pastedown. Endpapers and frontispiece with spotting. Tissue guard to frontispiece.

Text is clean and bright throughout with some scattered spotting. Page 174 and 175 with offset stating due to loose related newspaper article being loosely inserted into the book. Some small pencil annotations.
