Published by James S. Virtue, London. Undated but believed to be 1859.

A good set of 3 brown cloth hardbacks with black leather spines and corners. Raised bands, gilt titles and label to spine. Covers with some scuffing, bumping and wear. A small indentation to the top edge of one of the boards in volume 1. Soundly bound. Text block with feathered marbling to edges.

In each volume, the endpapers, and first and last few pages have foxing, which is quite pronounced, but after a few pages this disappears, with only occasional light scattered spotting through the text - generally located in the pages surrounding the plates, which is not unusual for this publication. A substantial and impressive set.

Text in English.
