Really beautiful hard back book illustrated with 14 tissue guarded plates. Worthy of following Gorer's massive 2 volume set on the same subject published in 1911. This book is in fine condition. Cover is navy blue cloth over board with gilt lettering. Attractive Brussels booksellers sticker to first pastedown. Only very light spotting to extremities. Text is printed on high quality uncut ivory paper. Plates are bright and clean, all with near opaque tissue guards. 73pp plus 14 full page colour plates.
