Published in London: Printed for the Booksellers in Town and Country. Undated but circa 1730s. We believe this book is an early translation from the French and which developed to become the books Geography for Children and Geography for Youth in later versions, and which enjoyed multiple editions in the 18th Century. The British Library's earliest version of the Geography for Children is in 1750, and they have a title listed as The Geography of Children by the same author dating to 1737, so we think this book must date to before that printing, hence we assume the 1730s.

This is a particularly rare edition of this book with no copies found in Worldcat and the British Library's English Short Title Catalogue does not feature this book.

A good copy overall - bound in leather (probably sheep); the covers rubbed and worn and losses to corners. the book's spine has been strengthened and cover is now covered in protective plastic.

Text is age discolored but in good condition. Previous owner's signature (John Marsh)on free endpapers to 1798. First free endpapers foxed and strengthened at hinge.

The book features a fold-out frontispiece of a Map of the World entitled A New and Accurate Set of Maps of the World and Quarters from the best Authorities. Printed and sold by T. Fisher, Rochester.
