A handsome two-volume set of The Early Maps of Scotland to 1850, the definitive reference work produced by a Committee of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society and revised by D. G. Moir. This expanded third edition includes detailed cartographic history and reproductions of Scotland's earliest maps. Volume I (1973) covers the development of Scottish cartography with numerous fold-out maps and facsimiles, while Volume II (1983) continues with later surveys and newly discovered material. Both volumes are first impressions of the third edition and remain the standard reference for collectors, historians, and map enthusiasts alike.
