A near fine full leather hardback in a full leather prize binding from Palmer's Endowed School in Grays. Gilt armorial and border to front cover with tooled gilt spine, raised bands and red morocco title label. Some scuffing to covers and minor wear. Blue marbled endpapers, matched to text block edges. Prize presentation plate to first pastedown, with foxing. Inner hinges all intact and soundly bound.

The text is clean and bright throughout and is beautifully presented with line illustrations. Small amount of offsetting to free endpaper borders opposite leather. A handsome volume.
