Provenance; from the library of the late William St Clair (1937 - 2021), British historian, academic and author. His signature to first free endpaper along with a detailed inscription about the Parthenon photography in the book, demonstrating the recent deterioration to the patina due to air pollution, since the book's publication, and annotated by him to the rear. Very good dark orange hardback with gilt to cover. Minor bumping and rubbing. Dustjacket is good and covered in removable protective plastic. Some closed tears to top and a bit sun faded. Text bright and soundly bound. A very attracive, well illustrated book, with an interesting inscription.
With some St Clair pencil annotations, which should be seen as an enhancement.
