This is an elegantly bound early 19th-century volume featuring a curated collection of popular English poetry by James Beattie, Thomas Gray, and Oliver Goldsmith. Each title was printed in London by Suttaby and other associated publishers between 1805 and 1812, reflecting the period's taste for portable, affordable editions of admired poets. These pocket-sized works – each with engraved frontispiece and vignette title page – have been custom-bound together in a single fine morocco volume and are presented in a matching cloth slipcase. Combining biographical sketches with celebrated poetic selections, the book captures the literary sensibilities of the Romantic and pre-Romantic era in a format that is both attractive and collectable.
