The first volume also has a biographical note by the editor, W. H. Chesson (her husband) and an introduction by Ford Maddox Hueffer. These volumes were published shortly after her early death, in April of that year.

First title page has the name 'Nora Hopper' written in pencil - Hopper was the author's maiden name, and she was originally known as Eleanore Jane Hopper (1871 - 1906).

A set of 5 paperbacks with green card covers. Books are fair to good - top and tail of spines are rather frayed and some of the text blocks are beginning to come away from their spines as the glue has dried out. Text is generally clean with minor age spotting. A fairly scarce set.
