The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams, BCA Edition, 1980

£30.00
SKU LAN8906

The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams. Classic British science fiction from Douglas Adams - the first in the Hitch Hiker's series.

Published by Book Club Associates by arrangement with Arthur Baker Limited, 1980. Published shortly after the first trade edition of 1979, and produced in a very similar design. Key differences are a plain blue rear to the dustjacket, (akin to second state trade edition with no Publisher's advertisement), no price on the inner flap, BCA logo to spine, and including the BCA publishing information on the reverse of the title page.

A very good navy blue hardback with gilt to spine, in a fair dustjacket. The dustjacket has a faded spine and a torn area with losses at the rear spine joint. Also a 3cm tear at head of spine. The cloth cover has minor rubbing and wear, particularly where there is a loss to the dustjacket on the rear edge of spine.

Text is clean, bright and soundly bound, with one small age spot on vertical text block edge.

An edition which is now becoming scarce, which any Hitch Hiker fan would like to have in their collection - it looks very similar to the true first edition, but without the large price tag!

Text in English.
