An unusual and attractive custom leather binding of this title from the ever-popular New Naturalist series.

Published by Collins, London, 1971. 2nd impression of the Revised Edition of 1966 (the first edition being published in 1949). 

A near fine hardback with leather spine and corners. Raised bands with gilt decoration. Brown leather, with marbled paper over boards (the same design also used as endpapers). Minor rubbing. 

Text is in near fine condition - bright, clean and soundly bound. Coloured top edge. Well illustrated throughout. Minor marks to text block edge.

The binding provides an interesting take on the New Naturalist series.
