The Silent Traveller in Edinburgh, by Chiang Yee (蒋彝).

Chiang Yee, 1903-1977, was the self-styled 'Silent Traveller', a writer, painter and calligrapher. He produced a charming series of illustrated travel books between 1937 and 1972, providing his very personal insights on the locations he visited, from his own Chinese heritage perspective.

Published by Methuen & Co. Ltd., London. 1950 second edition (first published November 1948).

A good yellow cloth hardback with printed title. Mild rubbing and slight skew to spine. Some spots to top edge. With original printed dustjacket with taped paper repairs, nibbled edges, age toning to extremities, and sunned spine. Not price clipped. Housed in removable protective plastic.

Text is in very good condition and is bright and clean, with the lovely illustrated plates presented beautifully. Endpapers with mild offsetting from jacket flaps.
