Handbook for Travellers in Scotland, John Murray, 1884
A classic Victorian travel guide from John Murray's famous "Handbooks for Travellers" series, this 1884 fifth revised edition of Handbook for Travellers in Scotland offers a richly detailed portrait of Scotland’s routes, towns, scenery, and historical sites in the late nineteenth century. Featuring Murray's distinctive red cloth binding, numerous maps and plans (including the two large folding maps housed in the cover pockets), and extensive practical information for period travellers, it remains an appealing and authoritative reference for collectors of Scottish topography and historical travel literature.
