Published by George Allen, London and Orpington, 1891. First edition. Printed by Hazell, Watson & Viney Ltd, London and Aylesbury.
A good blue green cloth hardback of this scarce edition, with gilt title to spine. Cover a little soiled and worn. First pastedown carries booksellers notes in pencil and previous owner's signature (L.S. Wood, 1920) in coloured pencil. The first free endpaper carries a small article about Ionica pasted down on the left edge, and an ink signature of former owner C S Pemberton in ink (1890). Last pastedown also contains some numerical pencil notes written on inside cover.
With bound-in erratum slip, as issued, on contents page. One underline and a few pencil notes to contents pages. Otherwise, text nice and clean throughout. Small corner tear of around 1cm x 5cm on last page. An uncommon book.
