Published by The Hogarth Press, London, 1946 first edition. Printed in Edinburgh by R. and R. Clark. An uncommon first edition, particularly with the dustjacket.

A very good orange cloth hardback with printed motif to front and title to spine. Mild rubbing. With a good dustjacket with wear to extremities and a small nibbled loss at top of spine. Some discoloration to spine. With removable plastic protective wrap.

Previous owner's name to first free endpaper. Text is clear and bright throughout with some light age toning to edges. Some light spotting to endpapers and a 1cm open crack at rear inner hinge. All soundly bound. A delightful book.

Text in English/Scottish Dialect.
