Very good condition. Original green cloth boards with gold lettering and gold front cover motif. Signature of previous owner on inside cover endpaper. Very nice clean copy with only minor age discoloration. Some foxing to endpapers.
Three tipped in colour plates (and the mention that these were "a mere token of what might have been possible in peacetime"). Also contains 144 black and white plates. Approx 239 text pages.
As a small bonus contains a newspaper cutting from 1970 with a story about a Sung Dynasty bottle fetching 90,000 guineas at Christies.
