A fair set of 4 green cloth hardback volumes with elaborate blind-stamped, printed and gilt design.
Each division has full page plates at the front, followed by the illustrated text. Division IV contains the glossary, index and list of plates at the rear.
Covers are good with some scuffing and bumping, but make an attractive set.
Text is also good with some age discoloration.
Division I is missing its free endpapers and blanks, plus the title page. Hinges are cracked. There is a loose gathering of pages in the middle.
Division II frontispiece image and endpaper is almost detached. Hinges are cracked.
Division III is nice and tight.
Division IV is all intact, but hinges are wobbly.
