A set of 8 Rudyard Kipling 'Pocket' book reprints, comprising:

Departmental Ditties and Other Verses, Methuen and Co., London, 1911;

Wee Willie Winkie, and Other Stories, Macmillan and Co., London, 1913;

Stalky & Co., Macmillan and Co., London, 1917;

Life's Handicap, Being Stories of Mine Own People, Macmillan and Co., London, 1917;

Traffics and Discoveries, Macmillan and Co., London, 1922;

The Five Nations, Methuen and Co., London, 1922;

Kim, Illustrated by J. Lockwood Kipling, Macmillan and Co., London, 1924; and;

Puck of Pook's Hill, Macmillan and Co., London, 1933.

A good set of red limp leather books, with stiff covers. Gilt titles and decorations to spines and embossed gilt Kipling elephant roundel, with Hindu good luck symbol, to front covers.

With gilt top edges, and some with gilt to all 3 edges. Books are generally soundly bound with text clean and bright. Some illustrated. Some bumping and wear to covers, and some with frayed and worn heads and tails of spine.

Books with occasional other minor faults. For example 'Kim' has a detached plate and a plate with rough and worn edges, and 'Puck of Pook's Hill' has wear to vertical outer joint. Most with owner's inscriptions to front endpapers. Imperfect, but a good reading set.

Text in English.

Dimensions: Each volume approximately 176mm  x 113mm x 14mm.
