A wonderful work by Alasdair Gray, probably the most important contributor to Scottish art and literature in modern times, who passed away on 29 December 2019. The work has its roots in his 1970s play 'The History Maker'.

This is the first Penguin issue which includes changes by the author, which he considered the definitive text going forward.

Published by Penguin Books, London, 1995, following the original Canongate Press issue in 1994. 

A very good paperback with colour printed laminated covers. Some sunning to spine. Light wear. Soundly bound. Text pages bright and clean with some age toning to edges.
