A wonderful work by Alasdair Gray, probably the most important contributor to Scottish art and literature in modern times, who passed away on 29 December 2019. The work has its roots in his 1970s play 'The History Maker'.

Signed by the author to the first free endpaper. As ever, the dustjacket, cloth cover design, and the text include the author's own designs and illustrations.

Published by Canongate Press, Edinburgh, 1994. First edition, first impression.

A fine blue cloth hardback with beautiful metallic silver cover design. Dustjacket is clean and unmarked, with some slight age toning to edges. Not price-clipped. Text pages are bright, clean and soundly bound.
