A good volume, with dark brown leather spine and corners, and black cloth over boards. Spine with raised bands, gilt decoration, textured pattern and black morocco title label. Covers worn, rubbed and bumped, but soundly bound. The endpapers are significantly foxed.
Text has scattered spotting, and edge of text block is significantly spotted. One of the page gatherings is a slightly wobbly, but still bound.
This book has always been noted for its high quality hand coloured plates of the animal kingdom, and we believe all are present in this volume as called for. The plates are of wonderful design, and are generally bright, with scattered spotting.
