Seated teakwood figurine, Burma
This decorative female figure is carved from teakwood and has extensive painted decoration.
This kind of figure was usually used a decorative piece (often with a male companion piece) at venues such as theatres or places of social gathering.
It is possible that she is a Burmese Nat, but we have been unable to identify her to date if this is the case.
Old damages, but all adds to the character.
51 cm high x 19 cm wide x 19 cm deep.
