A good hardback with textured cloth and vellum spine and corners, with gilt decoration. Covers are stained and worn with some of the staining reaching the front and rear pastedowns. The vellum is soiled and darkened with age. An unusual binding. The contents are firmly bound inside.
Previous owner's bookplate to the first pastedown - Canon Raymond Samuel Foster, The College of Saint John The Evangelist, along with a further owner's signature. The text is very good throughout, with uncut edges as issued. Some light age spotting, particularly to titles and first few pages, but a very clean reading text overall.
