Provenance; from the library of the late William St Clair (1937 - 2021), British historian, academic and author. His signature, to first free endpaper, along with a signed dedication to William St Clair, from the author, Leslie A. Marchand, dated to 1977, in Volume I. William St Clair has also signed his name to Volumes II and II. He has also written notes to last free endpaper of Volume I, and an occasional pencil mark elsewhere.
